Who and What

Hi All,
Welcome to this blog.
I'm autodidacted bicycle enthutist and mechanic, waiting for the right moment to be fully dedicated to the dream of LBS (local bicycle store).

I can do almost everything with your old bike to make it shine and roll.

I can get you everything for your new bike project build.

The only thing I can not do, is to make you ride.

Anyway, fell free to comment, contact and ask questions.

With smile,
Garazhik

Colnago LUX frame

Well, how shall I put it gently:”Fucking Colnago!”
So i got the complete bike, and then upgrade it. Making full black wheels, nice touch of brooks leather, fixed gear and black parts.
Now you can see the frame and the colors. Now this bike fly and no one can stop it. Now it looks classic and has style. Now it fixed gear.

Gitane Pursuit Frame

Finally got a chance to work with real professional frameset used in cycling competitions. Gitane meaning "gypsy" [feminine]) a well known French manufacture provided a a beautiful frameset for my next project. The guy who owns it is Alex Dale an English man in Tel-Aviv, bought it on ebay together with front wheel (650c size). The current build looks like this, but he has some changes in mind so probably it will be updated soon. The funny part is that being a professional sportsman he has never tried a fixie before, but as one might say once you go fixed you never be mixed (just invented it).

Red fixie II (Peugeot frame)

Never give a fixie to extreme guys. You will create a monster and the monster will eat you. Red fixie was created for Kirill that is already in climbing and slacklining. So fixing was just a natural extension of every day activity. He is nuts and its getting worth. Soon he will do Metula to Eilat on fixie and call me to say that his rims are full of skid patches.

BTW, the photographs are made by him as well.

Some skids:

Finally the crazy guy and his horse:

Enjoy the ride.

ХВЗ Старт Шоссe

Long wait release for real nostalgic Soviet frame. This is ХВЗ Старт Шоссe, was considered a high end road bike in USSR. I found it after almost year of searching in some old store in extremely bad shape. Then I was waiting for right person that can appreciate the nostalgic value and will have the full perspective of the restoration process.
And found such a guy right under my nose. My closest friend decided to go fixie and being an archeologist requested something odd and valuable. Few arguments on the colors and vuala here comes the beautiful result.

Skywalker

Ok, so it was long time ago, really like three or four months ago. Ages, for me. I wasn’t a father back then) Anyway, I met my old pal on the street a well known designer Luka, and the first thing he said, was “Hey I need you! I’m building a fixie and I need your help. Did all the painting now just assemble and parts, so help is needed”.
No problem, especially when you see extremely nice paint work with “Skywalker” logo on it.
Did some work, change some parts, and a new fixie was born.

Apparently Luka Or has also started some side project of his own. fixie cards - a jewelry for bike. Check this out!

Fuji Track

Guys are getting updated. I mean they start with something old and refurbished, but after a while they understand that bicycle is more than just a fun ride. Its quick and reliable transportation, physical exercise and great source of positive mood. And thus one shall make it as comfortable as he can.
Take for example Eitan. He was riding MBK for almost a year. Now he decided to move on and bought Fuji track. Few add-ons, colors, and upgrades and he has an ultimate ride with personal touch.

Motobécane Grand Jubilé mixte

Well, I’m getting my family more and more involved. First it was my father that riding a fixie and has a very cool outfit to be aligned with bike design. And now it’s my sis. She said, I wanna bike, and I want it to be the most prettiest bike in town. It took me a while to get the right and unique frame for the request. It is Motobécane Grand Jubilé mixte frame that has a single top tube sloping down towards the seat tube, but diverging into twin lateral stays just before the seat tube. Only Motobecane did it and I find it very nice both in design and practical perspectives.
I was working very hard to refurbish it as it was in very-very bad shape. Had to remove the seatpost (alloy) with caustic acid. It was sitting inside for a week, till the seatpost got completely melted. My sis also had a specific color request for each and every part. So we run after the parts all over the globe and had to wait almost two months for shipments.
But finally, as in every project, she has a new ride.

This is an original Motobécane Grand Jubilé mixte as was shown in catalog:

the photo is taken from Motobecane Catalog 1979

And this is a new ride:

P.S. New brake installation. Very comfortable.

Concord mixte

Few months ago I have posted in Facebook, very unique frame and offered it for ladies build. Recentky got approached by my neighbor and friend, and was asked to make comfortable urban bike with ladies frame and coaster brake (you know, like you had in your childhood, pushing back makes you skid).
So here we go my first coaster brake bike with rare frame from Concord. As far as I know from internet, Concord was local private held US brand and was considered equivalent to, or upscale from the Schwinn.
